Secret Secret
When I was six a man told me his secret and i’ve never been the same.
Alone on a bench while my siblings nearby played
Under an oak tree on a fine hot summer day
He sat next to me with a brown bag in hand
He said girly look at me my one and only demand
I looked in to his grey eyes with grey bushy brows
And he told me how his uncle had taken him to town
took him to a room and made him kneel down
My little heart it started to skip midbeat
But I wasn’t afraid and I didn't retreat
It was the feelings, grief and rage, that hurt me the most
Whoever I was earlier that morning instantly turned into a ghost
But then something made things more amiss
Innocence soon lost not given away with a kiss
I’m leading you astray so please listen close
What happened next is not a joke
A laughing giggle dropped down from way up in the tree
Seated on the bench we lifted our chins up to see
A jackal, a demon, a wench of a man right off his rocker
Skin all wrinkled straight from Davey Jones locker
He drew out a gun, grey metal and heavy
Pointed it at my left eye and said now shes ready
The Bench Man stepped up with heave and a shout
How quickly he moved I still can’t figure out
He said to the demon, hop on down from this tree!
I wish I was lying but it’s as real as can be
The demon came down and sat right underneath me
But still no fear had entered my mind, and stilly I sat
Wondering, not worried, if this day was my last
